A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a caring, proactive and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their specialist support team. This role is key in helping students with SEND and SEMH needs overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Behaviour Mentor - the role:- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND/SEMH
- De-escalate challenging situations using positive behaviour strategies
- Work closely with the SENDCo, pastoral team and external professionals
- Support EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Foster emotional regulation, resilience and positive self-esteem
- Monitor progress and contribute to review meetings and reports
- Experience supporting young people with SEND or SEMH needs (school, youth work, care)
- A calm, empathetic and consistent approach
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable students
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding
- Relevant training (Team Teach, MAPA, etc.) is desirable but not essential
- A 2:1 or above degree in Psychology, Education or a related field is advantageous
