About the Role:

  • You will lead an Early Years class within a specialist SEN setting, delivering a creative, play-based and highly personalised curriculum to young children with a range of complex needs, working closely with a supportive team of TAs and therapists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver an engaging, play-based EYFS curriculum tailored to pupils' individual needs and EHCPs
  • Carry out ongoing assessment and observation to track progress and inform next steps
  • Create a safe, stimulating and structured learning environment suited to young learners with SEN
  • Work closely with TAs, therapists and other professionals as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families and carers
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and pupil progress reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with school and statutory requirements
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school-specific policies at all times

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
  • Experience teaching in an Early Years or SEN setting (essential)
  • Knowledge and understanding of EYFS framework and SEND Code of Practice
  • Experience working with children with complex needs (desirable)
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all pupils
