We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon, working with children who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing and resilient, and who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people.
The role:
- As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support to pupils both in and out of the classroom.
- You will help children overcome barriers to learning, develop their confidence and independence, and feel safe and supported within the school environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
- Supporting children with SEMH and complex needs to engage positively with learning.
- Helping pupils develop their social, emotional and communication skills.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Supporting positive behaviour and helping children to regulate their emotions.
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
- Adapting activities and providing encouragement to meet individual needs.
- Promoting pupils' independence, confidence and self-esteem.
