Health & Beauty Lecturer - Part Time
Location: Further Education College
Contract: Long-term temporary assignment (until at least Christmas, with the potential to extend)
Hours: Part time - split shifts across the week
Aspire People are currently working in partnership with a Further Education College to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Health & Beauty Lecturer to support the delivery of practical and theoretical sessions to post-16 learners.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced beauty therapist, health and beauty professional or someone with a relevant industry background who has experience of supporting, training or teaching others and is looking to take on a teaching role within a college environment.
The Role
Deliver and support practical and theoretical Health & Beauty sessions to learners aged 16+ within a Further Education setting.
Support students in developing their practical skills and knowledge across the health and beauty sector.
Demonstrate relevant treatments, techniques and professional industry standards.
Provide guidance, encouragement and support to learners of varying abilities.
Promote good hygiene, health and safety practices and professional conduct.
Help maintain a safe, organised and productive salon or classroom environment.
Work split shifts across the week to meet the college's timetable requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
Has practical experience and a good working knowledge of the health and beauty industry.
Has previous experience of teaching, training, mentoring or supporting others in health and beauty.
Is confident demonstrating practical skills and engaging with post-16 learners.
Has good communication skills and the ability to motivate and encourage students.
Is reliable, flexible and passionate about helping others develop their skills.
Holds relevant industry, health and beauty or teaching qualifications (desirable).
Teaching qualifications are not essential for this position. The college is particularly interested in candidates who have strong industry experience and have previously supported or taught health and beauty, whether in a formal teaching environment or through workplace training and mentoring.
Candidates with other relevant qualifications and transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
