**Do you have experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional or social needs?**
Aspire People are currently recruiting **SEMH Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Support practitioners** to work within primary schools across Manchester.
With schools now back for the new academic year, we're looking for people who can provide pupils with the **consistent, patient and relationship-based support** they need to engage with school and learning.
This role could suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Support Worker, Youth Worker, Mentor or similar professional, although recent school experience would be particularly valuable.
- **Your Responsibilities Could Include:**
- Providing 1:1 and small-group SEMH support
- Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
- Helping children develop emotional regulation strategies
- Supporting pupils before, during and after challenging situations
- Implementing individual behaviour strategies
- Building trusting and consistent relationships
- Supporting classroom engagement
- Helping pupils manage transitions and unstructured periods
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- Encouraging resilience, confidence and independence
- **We're Looking For Someone Who:**
- Has recent experience supporting children or young people
- Understands SEMH and challenging behaviour
- Is calm and consistent under pressure
- Can build positive relationships with children
- Has strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Understands that behaviour can be a form of communication
- Can maintain clear boundaries while taking a nurturing approach
- Is committed to safeguarding
