Aspire People are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work across primary schools in Manchester. Now that schools are back for the new academic year, we're looking to speak with people who have recent experience working with children or young people and want to bring those skills into a school environment. You don't necessarily need a TA qualification. We're interested in people who can demonstrate the right experience, attitude and ability to build positive relationships with children. Your background could include youth work, tutoring, mentoring, childcare, sports coaching, children's activities or previous school-based work.
The Role May Include:
- Supporting pupils within the classroom
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Assisting with Reading, Writing and Maths activities
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Helping children remain engaged with learning
- Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines
- Encouraging confidence, independence and social development
- Supporting pupils during breaktimes and transitions
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff
We're Looking For:
- Recent experience working with children or young people
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, supportive and adaptable approach
- Confidence working with different ages and needs
- Genuine interest in working within a primary school
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Transferable Experience Could Include:

- Previous school experience
A formal TA qualification is not essential for the right candidate, although relevant qualifications and school experience would be advantageous.
