We are seeking a dedicated and dependable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Royston, Hertfordshire. This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone with previous SEND experience who wants to make a genuine difference to pupils' lives while developing professionally.

Important: This role is full-time only, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:40pm. You must have your own transport or reliable commuting arrangements, as the school is most accessible by car.

What Will the Role Involve?
You will support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them engage with lessons, develop life skills and build confidence.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing tailored support based on individual pupil needs.
Encouraging communication, engagement and independence.
Supporting learning activities and classroom routines.
Building trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
Helping maintain a safe, supportive and structured environment.
Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team.

What Are We Looking For?
The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND - essential.
GCSEs, including good literacy and numeracy skills.
Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
Excellent reliability and attendance.
Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
Reliable transport to and from the school.
Part-time applicants cannot be considered for this vacancy.
