Aspire People are recruiting! Aspire People have partnered with a specialist school in Lutterworth who are looking for a dedicated, patient and experienced Learning Mentor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children and young people and has experience supporting pupils who may face barriers to learning, behavioural challenges, SEN or SEMH needs.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and confidence
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Helping pupils develop their independence and social skills
- Supporting pupils who may have SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs
- Working alongside teachers and other support staff
- Helping create a calm, safe and positive learning environment
- Encouraging pupils to reach their individual potential
We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people is essential.
- The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working in an educational, SEN, SEMH, youth or support setting
- Be confident supporting pupils with additional or behavioural needs
- Be patient, calm and resilient
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Be consistent and confident when setting boundaries
- Be passionate about supporting young people
- Be adaptable and able to respond to individual needs
- Be reliable and committed to working Monday-Friday
