Aspire People are currently recruiting passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistants for exciting opportunities across Liverpool, with roles available throughout the Liverpool area.
We are currently working with a large, welcoming two-form entry primary school in Liverpool that is looking to appoint a confident and experienced HLTA on a full-time basis from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive school community that is committed to helping every child thrive.
As part of the Key Stage 1 team, you will play a vital role in delivering targeted phonics and literacy interventions, helping pupils build confidence and make excellent progress in their reading and writing.
The Role
- Deliver high-quality phonics and literacy interventions to small groups of Key Stage 1 pupils.
- Lead structured intervention sessions for children of mixed abilities, targeting identified learning gaps.
- Support teachers with planning, assessment, and monitoring pupil progress.
- Create engaging, inclusive learning environments that encourage children to achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to ensure interventions meet individual pupil needs.
- Provide regular feedback to staff and pupils to support ongoing development.
- Promote positive behaviour and a love of learning throughout the school.
We're Looking For
- Qualified HLTA status or an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a strong background in delivering interventions.
- Excellent knowledge of phonics, with experience delivering programmes such as Read Write Inc. or similar.
- Experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 1.
- Confidence to lead small group sessions independently and use your initiative.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, flexible attitude and genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
- Ability to provide two professional references.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
