Are you passionate about supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and looking for your next opportunity within Further Education? Aspire People are recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to work across Further Education colleges and Post-16 provisions throughout South Wales. You'll support learners to access their education, develop independence and build confidence, working alongside lecturers and wider support teams across academic, vocational and practical programmes.
About You & The Role
- Support learners with ALN, SEN, SEMH and complex needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Work alongside Lecturers to help learners access academic, vocational and practical courses
- Support learners to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills
- Use positive behaviour support and appropriate de-escalation strategies
- Build positive and professional relationships with learners
- Adapt your approach to meet individual learning and support needs
- Previous experience in education, youth work, care, support work or a similar setting is desirable
- FE, college, Post-16 or school experience is desirable
- EWC registration, or willingness to obtain, is required
