Our Client is a NHS GP Practice's in Liverpool, Merseyside. We're seeking to recruit an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Prescriber or Advanced Paramedic with Independent Prescribing rights in the UK to work in NHS General Practices across Northwest England. This is a self-employed (locum) Contract, and you'll be expected to work across multiple sites. The post holder will be required to work effectively as part of a team or autonomously within the Clinical Governance Framework to ensure that Clinical Governance is embedded in your clinical practice. You will be working as a member of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, whilst supporting other team members in order to provide an optimum level of care to all patients.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide same-day consultations and manage minor illnesses, long-term conditions, and urgent presentations.
  • Carry out physical examinations, order and interpret investigations, and make clinical decisions independently.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in line with your qualifications and national guidelines.
  • Participate in health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management programmes.
  • Support the development of clinical protocols and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborative care planning.
  • Infection control management of equipment
  • Health promotion and lifestyle advice

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Registered Paramedic with HCPC Registration
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent experience).
  • Independent Prescriber (V300).
  • Extensive experience working in primary care or a relevant clinical setting.
  • Confident in autonomous decision-making and managing complex patient needs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Locum/Temp Independent Prescriber
  • Salary/Remuneration: Competitive Hourly
  • Self-Employed
  • Covering GP Practices, Walk-in-Centres, Urgent Care Centres, etc. across Northwest England

Mandatory Requirements

  • Must hold a MSc in Nursing (UK)
  • Must Hold Full registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), or Healthcare Profession Council (HCPC)
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Must hold Professional Indemnity
  • Right-to-Work in UK
  • Provide two referees we can contact for a reference

Key Responsibilities & Clinical Duties

  • Excellent manual dexterity and a compassionate bedside manner.
  • To deliver high-quality, comprehensive care to a diverse patient list
  • Refer complex cases outside your scope to your supervising Nurse, or GPs as necessary

Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain accurate patient records using the practice’s electronic software
  • Adhere to infection control guidelines as dictated by HTM 01-05 and the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • Participate in clinical audits to sustain high standards of clinical governance

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with the administrative and practice management staff
  • Support the delivery of policy and procedures whilst providing leadership to other workforce colleagues as required

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with NHS clinical software (e.g., EMIS)
  • Good understanding, Knowledge of QOF
