Aspire Laboratories is a contract testing laboratory providing microbiology and analytical services to the pharmaceutical and other industries. The company is located in Dagenham East. We are looking for a microbiologist to join our team.
The role will have a mix of working in the micro lab with testing and validation, with also time to work to support QA. You MUST hold a degree in microbiology and have at least 3 years previous experience in a microbiology lab.
Responsibilities:- Main point of contact for microbiology department
- Training of micro analysts
- Troubleshooting including investigations, identifications of plates and growth
- Protocols and reports writing
- SOP creation and updates
- Ensuring the micro department is up to date on all techniques and methods of analysis
- Review and implementation of EP / BP chapters
- Checking of work (both microbiology and analytical)
- Performing testing when required, including MLT, validation, GPT, water testing
- Use of Laboratory Information Management Software (LIMS) to log in and check samples
- Promote safety within the laboratory areas, leading by example and ensuring correct signage and maintaining COSHH documentation for safe operations within the lab
- Ensure efficient and timely operations, meeting internal commitments and minimizing any down time or delays
- To uphold company procedures in regard to GMP and comply with UK pharmaceutical regulations at all times
- Other duties as assigned
- Cross training for QC support
