Location: Southampton

Salary: Competitive

Hours: 35 hours pw, flex. Core hours 10am-4pm office based

The company has a real "family feel" to its culture and the team are very focused but supportive. They have a lot of longevity within the team and are a well-established and growing business in the Southampton area.

The Payroll Manager is a key member of the Business Services Team and is supported by two dedicated payroll assistants and other accounts staff from the wider team. The Payroll Manager ensures that the payroll bureau services are accurate, timely and efficient and primarily works directly with clients.

The successful Payroll Manager will be able to demonstrate:

  • 3 years’ experience in a payroll bureau or busy internal payroll team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding client service skills
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills
  • Proficiency using MS365 software, experience of IRIS payroll would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Xero
  • Confident and articulate written and verbal communications skills
  • Possess enthusiasm and commitment to continuous learning and development

The responsibilities of the Payroll Manager will include:

  • Provision of an accurate end to end payroll service for multiple clients on a weekly, fortnightly, monthly and annual basis.
  • Providing CIS compliance and administration to multiple clients
  • Responding to clients on pay related queries
  • Auto enrolment administration
  • Furlough claim calculations and submissions
  • Resolving client payroll queries
  • Keeping up to date with payroll legislation changes
  • Submission of relevant payroll forms online to HMRC as required
  • Client administration, including billing
  • Supporting other areas of the practice with payroll and PAYE queries
  • Communicating clearly with clients and colleagues on a timely basis
  • Continuously reviewing and streamlining payroll processes
