Our client, a professional services firm with strong growth ambitions, is looking for a Project Manager to join their team. The Project Manager role is available due to an internal promotion and would suit someone who is a Junior Project Manager at the moment who wants to take the next step up.
The firm is entering a phase of strategic transformation, aiming to deliver internal projects that improve efficiency, enhance client experience, and support sustainable growth. This role is central to achieving those objectives by ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
We’re looking for a Project Manager to play a pivotal role in driving the firm’s transformation journey. This is an exciting opportunity to lead projects that make a real difference; streamlining processes, embedding best practices, and enabling change that positions us as a modern, agile, and client-focused organisation.
You’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish, applying PRINCE2 (or equivalent) methodology to ensure strong governance, clear risk management, and measurable benefits. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing projects in a professional services or similar environment with a strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
The successful Project Manager will:
- Have previous project management experience ideally from a professional services background
- Have Prince2 qualification or be qualified by experience (APM, PMQ, PMP)
- Have strong organisational and planning skills
- Be a strong communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Be detail orientated, proactive, and adaptable
- Be able to work under pressure and to deadlines
The responsibilities of the Project Manager will include:
Project Planning & Delivery- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Manage resources, timelines, and deliverables to ensure projects meet agreed objectives
- Apply PRINCE2 (or equivalent) methodology and tailor appropriately for each project
- Ensure adherence to the firm’s project governance framework, including risk, quality, and change control processes
- Identify and engage stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and present progress reports to the Head of Operational Transformation and project boards
- Proactively identify risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate where necessary
- Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities
- Foster collaboration and maintain momentum across all phases of the project.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to improving project management practices within the firm
