Job Duties of the Customs Administrator:
- Advising all freight companies currently involved in the importation of goods from overseas on behalf of our client of the appropriate commodity code and customs procedure codes
- Liaising with freight agents/importers, ascertaining the correct commodity code by using the data within their IT system, external reports and data received on the vendors customs invoice
- Ascertain the appropriate Customs Procedure Code (CPC) from the trade-tariff website;
- Oversee all the information is sent through to the requestor, so they can complete the inward processing
- Checking and verifying that all customer entries are correct as per the original data provided
- Using customs entry, verify that the correct Commodity Code and CPC were used by referring back to the information supplied from the original request. If there is a conflict in the information, refer back to the importer for verification
- Verifying all the information and add the customs entry number to Quantum, whilst updating the Customs Status accordingly
- Attending review meetings as and when required.
