Location: Beaminster

Salary: £27,500 - £30,000

Hours: 9am-5.30pm Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm Fri

Benefits: 25 days holiday + Bank holidays (including 3 for Christmas shutdown), birthday off, no onsite parking but provide car parking permit for local car park, pension, medical insurance after probation, social events during the year.

Aspire Jobs are delighted to be working in an exclusive partnership with our professional services client who are a well-established and growing firm based in West Dorset. Please note you should drive for this role as you will be out visiting clients.

They are seeking to recruit someone who could provide practical and administrative support in relation to their Deputyship clients. The ideal candidate may have worked within adult social care, care coordination, a care/nursing home environment, local authority services, vulnerable-adult support, community services or a similar setting.

There is a lot of chasing of documents and of the relevant agencies mainly via the phone so you should be a good communicator verbally as well as by email.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills liaising with a wide range of professionals
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality
  • Ability to deal with practical issues independently while recognising when something requires a decision or input from the professional Deputy
  • Experience of Court of Protection or Deputyship work would be advantageous
  • Transferable experience of coordinating services and supporting vulnerable adults would also be beneficial
  • Driving licence is essential

Responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with care and nursing homes, social workers, local authorities, healthcare professionals and family members
  • Assisting with the organisation of care packages and care/nursing home placements
  • Visiting clients where appropriate and maintaining regular contact with them
  • Helping to identify and coordinate practical requirements for clients
  • Liaising with third parties regarding accommodation, household needs and other services
  • Maintaining accurate records of contact, decisions, expenditure and actions
  • Monitoring ongoing arrangements and following up outstanding matters
  • Assisting the Deputy/fee earner with the wider administration of Deputyship matters
  • Generally acting as a reliable point of coordination for the practical issues that arise when the firm is responsible for managing the affairs of a vulnerable client
  • Reception cover when needed
