Aspire Defence Services Limited (ADSL) is seeking a passionate and results-driven Fire Safety Advisor (Apprentice) to be part of our exciting journey. Reporting to the Fire Technician, you will support The Garrisons by liaising with teams and contractors regarding fire-related works, ensuring compliance and contributing to the safe management of the estate.

Your Role:

  • You will be ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental policies and safe working practices across the estate.
  • You will be interpreting fire strategies and technical drawings to assess fire doors, fire stopping, dampers and compartments.
  • You will be liaising with The Garrisons teams and contractors to monitor and report on fire-related works and maintenance quality.
  • You will be inspecting fire doors beyond economic repair, recommending repair or replacement and recording findings with photographs and funding requirements.
  • You will be supporting reporting, audits and evidence packs relating to fire safety compliance and inspections.
  • You will be carrying out additional duties as reasonably required by the Fire and Special Projects Manager.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications: You will have a reasonable standard of English and Maths (GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent), the ability to complete written reports, audits and evidence packs, and hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Experience: You will have fire management awareness within a facilities management environment, experience interpreting technical drawings and reports, and familiarity with working in a Ministry of Defence or military environment.
  • Skills: You will demonstrate strong communication, organisational and IT skills including competent use of Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to work effectively with others while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Fire management awareness within a facilities management environment, the ability to interpret building technical drawings and reports, competent use of Microsoft Office applications, and experience working within a Ministry of Defence or military environment.

Desirable:

  • A B&CE trade related qualification.
  • Competent use of company management information systems such as IFS.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • A valid CSCS card.
