As Workshop Manager, you will lead and manage the Transport Services, Equipment Support and Equipment Care Workshop at Warminster Garrison, ensuring the safe, effective and compliant delivery of contractual services while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction and operational performance.

Your Role:

  • You will be leading the safe, compliant and effective delivery of workshop services in line with contractual requirements and key performance indicators.
  • You will be managing health, safety and environmental compliance, promoting risk management and supporting a strong safety culture.
  • You will be providing technical leadership, subject matter expertise and advice on engineering, compliance and audit requirements.
  • You will be ensuring workshop documentation, management systems and regulatory requirements are maintained to required standards.
  • You will be leading, coaching and developing team members, supporting performance management, recruitment and workforce planning.
  • You will be building strong customer relationships and communicating operational priorities through team briefings and engagement activities.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: You will hold Engineering Technician status within the motor vehicle engineering industry, a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Engineering qualification, relevant vehicle inspection qualifications, Engineering Supervisor Authority (or the ability to attain it), IOSH Working Safely certification, a full Category C driving licence, and experience using JAMES at Repair Manager and Senior Equipment Manager level.
  • Experience: You will have extensive experience working with wheeled vehicles and military or commercial workshops, alongside a strong understanding of Equipment Support systems, standards and publications. You will be confident interpreting technical documentation, using diagnostic systems and Microsoft Office applications, and must be able to obtain Ministry of Defence Security Clearance.
  • Skills: You will demonstrate strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to drive performance, support continuous improvement, develop effective teams, deliver excellent customer service and adapt positively to changing operational requirements.
