Your Role:
Working within the Capital Projects Team at our Larkhill Project Office, you will be responsible for the commercial delivery of various capital projects within a military estate. You will lead on the commercial aspects for your projects from pre-construction activities through to the agreement of final accounts and support the team in the maintenance of robust cost and revenue forecasts. You will visit sites and carry out surveys as necessary to assist the Pre-construction Team in the preparation of pricing schedules, specifications, and scopes of works and to assess the progress of works to validate supply chain invoices and requests for payment. You will liaise with the Procurement Team through the tender process and assist in the analysis of tender submissions and preparation of Joint Recommendations. You will produce cost plans, estimates and formal client submissions for your projects. You will provide commercial and contractual advice to the Project Team, review supply chain quotations and variations to ensure value for money, administer project instructions and manage contingency and risk budgets. You will ensure projects are commercially managed in full compliance with company policies and procedures and mentor and develop junior members of the Commercial Team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying and membership of a relevant professional body, such as the RICS.
- Experience: Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a Building Contractor, preferably in PFI and/or public sector service FM contracts.
- Skills: Be an organised, detail-oriented individual with commercial awareness and the ability to negotiate effectively. Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Driving Licence: Full UK valid driving licence required.
