Put the needs of patients first at all times, ensuring their care and welfare throughout each appointment.
Provide efficient chairside assistance, ensuring the correct instruments and equipment are prepared and available.
Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed by the treating clinician.
Liaise with reception to ensure smooth patient communications and timely transfer of records.
CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT & INFECTION CONTROL
Maintain clinical areas, instruments, and equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness, tidiness, and sterility in accordance with infection control procedures and manufacturers' instructions.
Handle all substances in accordance with health and safety policies, including PPE, COSHH, mercury handling, and waste disposal regulations.
Be familiar with and comply with all relevant health and safety rules and guidance.
Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations; ensure equipment is regularly maintained and in good working order.
Clean surgeries, waiting areas, toilets, and communal areas as instructed.
RADIOGRAPHY & LABORATORY
Develop, process, and file radiographs in line with current guidelines; update equipment as required.
Complete laboratory request forms accurately and maintain records of work sent, received, and fitted.
STOCK MANAGEMENT & ADMINISTRATION
Ensure adequate stocks of materials and other items within the surgery at all times.
Notify the senior nurse to order new stock supplies as necessary.
Ensure all computer and written records are accurately maintained and securely stored.
Cover reception duties when needed, including tasks and responsibilities of the receptionist role as required.
