Job Benefits:

Role Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise, coach and develop machine operators and welders to meet production targets
- Machine Setup & Operation: Assist with horizontal boring machines, lathes, milling machines and drills
- Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret mechanical detail drawings to define machining requirements
- Quality Control: Inspect and measure work throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with tight engineering tolerances
- Workflow Management: Monitor job progress, allocate resources and adjust schedules to meet deadlines
- Health & Safety: Maintain a safe, clean and efficient workshop environment
Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a machine operator with demonstrated supervisory or team-lead skills
- Proficiency in reading mechanical detail drawings and understanding machining specifications
- Hands-on experience operating a range of machine tools, specialising in conventional horizontal boring
- Ability to inspect and measure own work to guarantee accuracy throughout production
Advantageous (Desirable):
- Experience using a Kern Richard SH75 or similar horizontal boring machine
- Counterbalance forklift truck licence
- Overhead crane operation competency for loading and unloading parts
- Knowledge of safe working practices within a machine shop environment
