Aspirare Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mobile Electrician to join a leading electrical contractor headquartered in Ayr, supporting commercial and industrial clients across the Central Belt.
This is a long‑term, temp‑to‑perm opportunity offering excellent rates, consistent overtime, and career progression within a multi‑skilled engineering team.
This role is ideal for an electrician with strong industrial/commercial background, confident working independently across multiple sites, and committed to delivering high‑quality electrical maintenance, installation, and compliance work.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and upgrade electrical systems across commercial and industrial environments
- Carry out electrical inspection & testing, ensuring full compliance documentation
- Diagnose, repair, and resolve electrical faults across plant, machinery, and equipment
- Complete PPM (planned preventative maintenance) on electrical assets
- Work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary engineering team
- Install, commission, and modify electrical equipment and services
- Maintain accurate records for all maintenance, testing, and modifications
- Identify early signs of equipment failure and report issues promptly
- Follow safe isolation, de‑isolation, and permit‑to‑work procedures
- Support additional engineering tasks as directed by the Electrical Supervisor
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping, safety, and engineering discipline
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years’ commercial/industrial electrical experience
- Strong skills in cable containment systems (tray, trunking, conduit)
- Up‑to‑date IEE Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
- Valid SJIB Grade Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently in a mobile role across multiple sites
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable)
- Comp Ex certification (desirable)
