Mechanical Fitter, Water & Wastewater Sector, Covering Scotland, Long Term Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Monday–Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm, 40 hours per week, Overtime: Paid at 1.5x
  • Mechanical installation of pumps, screens, and rotating equipment
  • Assemble and install pipework, valves, and ancillary equipment across sites in Scotland
  • Work with various materials including PVC, ABS, ductile iron, galvanised steel, and stainless steel
  • Install pumps including centrifugal, multistage, and progressive cavity pumps
  • Interpret, follow, and explain technical instructions and engineering drawings
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating good organisation and time management

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in water, wastewater, or a similar industrial environment
  • Experience with pipework assembly and pump installation
  • Strong time management and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials across Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering
  • Ability to follow and interpret technical instructions
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of H&S legislation, including risk assessments and method statements
  • CSCS card required; confined space experience essential
  • DOMS qualification advantageous but not essential
