We are currently seeking an experienced Aluminium MIG Welder to join a busy workshop team on an initial 13-week contract, with the potential for extension or a permanent position for the right candidate.

Benefits

  • £24.00 per hour
  • Monday to Thursday working pattern
  • 7:00am – 5:15pm shifts
  • Long weekends every week

Responsibilities

  • MIG welding aluminium plates and components used in pylons and substations
  • Manufacturing and fabricating components for infrastructure replacement and upgrade projects
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Welding to specified tolerances and quality standards
  • Carrying out all work safely and efficiently within a workshop environment
  • Supporting quality control and ensuring completed work meets project specifications
  • Successfully completing a weld test prior to starting work

Requirements

  • Proven experience in aluminium MIG welding
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of welding tolerances and fabrication standards
  • TIG welding experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Candidates must provide their own welding mask and overalls for the weld test
