Groundworker position in Carlisle, 40 hours per week, Immediate Start.

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay rates based on experience:
    • Day Shift: £16.00 – £18.50 per hour
    • Night Shift: £18.00 – £20.50 per hour
  • Opportunity to gain a PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification
  • PTS certification valid for 2 years
  • Consistent working hours throughout the project
  • Travel time paid from 06:00 – 17:00 when travelling to site
  • Ongoing work available until project completion

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out troughing work on rail tracks to protect critical cable infrastructure
  • Assist with rail and trackside activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Follow site safety procedures and rail industry regulations
  • Work as part of a team to deliver project milestones on schedule
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and site housekeeping
  • Attend and complete required rail training when applicable

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual work in an outdoor environment
  • Ability to work both day and night shifts as required
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
  • PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to complete the PTS course after 12 shifts on the rail, including:
    • Drug & alcohol screening
    • E-learning modules

Working Hours:

  • Initial shift: Saturday night, 22:30 – 07:00
  • Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 15:30 on site
  • Travel days paid from 06:00 – 17:00 where applicable
