Temporary Position (Ongoing)
A well-established, national logistics business is seeking a skilled Transport Coordinator to join its busy and friendly team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of transport operations, working closely with customers, drivers, and third-party hauliers.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent organisational skills, and bring a solid understanding of third-party logistics and pallet network systems.
The Candidate;
- Previous experience in a transport coordination, routing, or driver management role.
- Knowledge of driver hours, tachograph legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear communicator who can stay calm under pressure.
- IT literate with experience using route planning or tracking software.
- Confident communicator with both customers and internal teams.
- Solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Manage and support drivers – allocate daily workloads, provide briefs, and ensure compliance with working time regulations.
- Track and monitor live routes – proactively resolve issues, update delivery schedules, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Maintain the live route plan – adapt quickly to changes, manage priorities, and keep operations running smoothly.
- Driver downloads & compliance – carry out regular driver card and tachograph downloads in line with legal requirements.
- Daily driver briefs and debriefs – ensure drivers are fully prepared before leaving the depot and capture key operational feedback on return.
- Liaise across departments – work closely with customer service, planning, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless delivery operations.
