A growing UK manufacturer of specialist construction products supplying Tier 1 contractors, roofing specialists, and the wider building envelope market. This role exists to take technically qualified enquiries and convert them into secured, profitable orders, playing a direct part in revenue growth.
The business designs and supplies innovative systems used across major construction projects, working closely with contractors, subcontractors, and specifiers. With a strong reputation for technical quality and repeat business, they are now strengthening their pre-contract function to improve conversion and pipeline performance.
This is a role combining estimating, technical sales, and pre-construction responsibility. Sitting within the commercial team, you will take ownership of live enquiries, reviewing drawings, preparing quotations, engaging with clients, and driving opportunities through to order. Success in the role is measured by your ability to progress pipeline, convert work, and ensure technically and commercially robust project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage enquiries from initial review through to order conversion
- Review drawings and specifications to prepare accurate quotations
- Engage with contractors and clients to clarify requirements and progress deals
- Negotiate pricing and support commercially sound outcomes
- Drive pipeline movement, including progressing stalled opportunities
- Ensure technical accuracy and compliance of all proposals
- Maintain CRM updates, tracking pipeline and activity
- Identify value engineering, upsell, and margin opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handover
- Support continuous improvement of bidding and win processes
- Experience in construction products, building envelope, roofing, fixings, or M&E systems
- Background in estimating, technical sales, or pre-construction roles
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Commercial awareness with confidence discussing price, value, and risk
- Experience working with main contractors, subcontractors, or Tier 1 suppliers would be an advantage
- £45,000 – £48,000 basic salary (DOE)
