We are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a well-established, market-leading logistics business specialising within the import of bulk freight.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised transport professional to play a key role in planning and managing UK-wide bulk haulage movements, ensuring efficient operations and exceptional customer service.

Experience within a bulk haulage, tanker, tipper, or general haulage environment is highly desirable A strong background working in a fast-paced transport office.

Good knowledge of UK Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations.

Strong understanding of transport compliance and operational planning.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

A flexible and proactive approach to work.

Sound decision-making skills.

Good geographical knowledge of the North West and wider UK road network.

Duties and Responsibilities; Plan and schedule bulk product movements across the UK.

Monitor and manage driver performance and daily activities.

Conduct driver briefings and debriefings where required.

Collate Proofs of Delivery (PODs) and prepare invoicing summaries.

Ensure all transport jobs are accurately entered into the transport management system.

Review routes and optimise vehicle utilisation to maximise operational efficiency.

Keep customers informed of any service failures, delays, or operational issues.

Manage and coordinate subcontractor activity on a daily basis.

Act as the key communication link between customers and drivers.

Ensure compliance with Driver Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.

Investigate service failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Deliver consistently high levels of customer service.
