Hours: 4 on 4 off – 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am (rotating shifts)
We’re looking for a talented Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join a leading manufacturing business in Gateshead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out engineering tasks in line with PPM schedules and targets
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and prioritise repair work effectively
- Monitor machine performance and support improvements in efficiency
- Work closely with planning teams to coordinate machine availability
- Provide technical support to production teams as required
- Support external contractors on site when needed
- Ensure all documentation and sign-offs are completed accurately
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety at all times
About You:
- Time-served engineer with relevant qualifications (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent)
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills with mechanical knowledge
- Able to safely isolate, access, and work within control panels
- Experienced in fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environments
- Able to fully strip, reassemble, and adjust production machinery
- PC literate and comfortable using maintenance systems
- Proactive, reliable, and team-oriented with a hands-on approach
