Temporary Position
I m currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a blue chip business that specialises in European and Global bulk & container freight.
They are seeking a Transport Planner to support the current transport operation in the management of route planning for UK container loads and bulk tippers.
The Candidate;
- Proven experience of working in a similar transport planning position
- Route planning experience within a container or bulk tipper operation is advantageous
- Experience of working within a fast paced, busy transport office
- Good knowledge of EU driver's hours and working time regulations
- Knowledge of port operations (desirable)
- Strong customer service skills
- Flexible approach
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Competent decision making
- Good geographical knowledge of the North West and UK
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Route planning for container and bulk loads for UK wide distribution
- Monitoring driver performance
- Assist with driver briefs and debriefs
- Collation of POD s & completion of invoicing summaries
- Ensure all transport jobs are inputted into the system
- Review driver routes and plan to maximise efficiency
- Keep all customers informed of all failed services or significant delays
- Daily planning and management of all subcontractors
- Provide the communication link between customers and drivers
- Supervising and managing driver workloads
- Managing your driver s daily activities in line with the Working Time Directive and Driving hours.
- Ensuring every customer receives excellent customer service
- Investigating failed services and looking into ways to resolve site issues
