About the Company
Aspion Search is recruiting for an Electrician to join a leading UK manufacturer with a global reputation for specialist engineering solutions.
This is an opportunity to join a well established business, working on the assembly, wiring, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical wire rope hoists and electrical control panels.
Responsibilities of the Electrician
- Assemble, wire, test and commission electro-mechanical wire rope hoists and associated electrical panels.
- Build, wire and test electrical control panels to engineering specifications.
- Assemble and connect electro-mechanical components, completing functional testing.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings and work instructions.
- Carry out daily health and safety inspections on designated equipment, including overhead cranes.
- Ensure tools, test equipment and measuring devices remain in good condition and within calibration requirements.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and housekeeping.
Requirements of the Electrician
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, ideally gained through an Apprenticeship.
- Experience as an Electrician within an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Experience building and wiring electrical control panels.
- Knowledge of 3 phase electrical systems, motors and drives.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of frequency inverters and PLC controlled systems.
- Confidence using IT systems to access technical documentation and production information.
