Overview
In this role you will review and enhance manufacturing processes across CNC machining, welding, electropolishing and inspection to boost productivity, quality and output. You will collaborate with Production Managers, Team Leaders and cross‑functional functions to implement improvements. You will manage continuous improvement projects from concept to implementation and support new product introductions. The opportunity offers clear career progression as the business expands and invests in facilities and people.
Pay / Benefits
- Salary 45,000–50,000 (dependent on experience)
- Mon–Fri 8:00–4:30
- 26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- 5% company pension contribution
- Up to 20 days’ company sick pay
- Bonus scheme (to be introduced)
Responsibilities
- Review manufacturing methods to improve efficiency, quality and output
- Collaborate across machine shop, welding, electropolishing and inspection to streamline workflows
- Analyse production workflows to identify bottlenecks, waste and delays
- Create and standardise processes, work instructions, flow maps and SOPs
- Lead continuous improvement projects end-to-end
- Support introduction of new products, machinery and automation
- Apply Lean Manufacturing to enhance performance
- Improve CNC cycle times, tooling, downtime, utilization and throughput
- Enhance welding processes to reduce defects and rework
- Develop electropolishing processes to improve cycle times and quality
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with Planning and Operations to increase capacity and utilization
- Collect and analyse production and quality data to monitor performance
- Produce KPIs, dashboards and improvement recommendations
- Present findings to management
- Ensure improvements meet HSE and quality standards
- Support risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Assist in accident/near-miss investigations
Key requirements
- HNC, HND or degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Production) or related discipline
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience supporting CNC machining, fabrication or welding operations
- Experience analysing and improving manufacturing processes
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience conducting root cause investigations and CP actions
- Experience working within a quality management system
- Ability to manage improvement projects from concept through to implementation
