An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Port Terminal Manager to lead operations at a major bulk terminal within the Humber region. Reporting to the Deputy Port Director, this role is responsible for the overall leadership, operational delivery, and commercial performance of the terminal. The successful candidate will take full accountability for the business unit’s financial performance, including revenue delivery, P&L ownership, cost control, and budget management. This is a senior leadership role requiring a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on operational management to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable terminal operations.

The Candidate:
- Previous management experience within a port, marine, shipping operation
- Strong experience within ports, terminals, or bulk handling operations
- Proven leadership experience in an operational management role
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L responsibility
- Experience managing performance, budgets, and operational targets
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across internal and external partners
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
- Engineering or asset management knowledge within industrial environments
- Experience working with maintenance or capital projects teams
- Knowledge of port safety regulations and frameworks
- Experience with SAP systems
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead safe, efficient day-to-day terminal operations and drive high performance across the site
- Deliver business strategy, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Take full ownership of P&L, delivering revenue, EBITDA, and cost control targets
- Monitor KPIs and implement improvements to enhance productivity and service delivery
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and partners
- Act as the senior operational contact for customers, ensuring consistent service delivery
- Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure full regulatory compliance
- Lead, coach, and develop operational teams, fostering a high-performance environment
- Ensure effective planning and use of labour, plant, and resources
- Work closely with engineering teams to maintain asset reliability and performance
- Support delivery of capital projects and provide operational input into investments
- Drive employee engagement, succession planning, and continuous development
