I am working with a well-established engineering business based in Sheffield, they are looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their growing team. They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who can help take the business forward, bringing 3D design capability, finite stress analysis experience, innovative design ideas and supporting calculations. - Work across a range of sectors including automotive, logistics and specialist vehicle applications.
- Involved in full project lifecycle from concept design through to fabrication and final build.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies.
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings for manufacture.
- Work closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical.
- Liaise with customers and internal teams on design specifications.
- Support projects from concept through to completion.
Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Mechanical Engineering qualifications.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a Mechanical Design Engineer role.
- Experience using 2D and 3D AutoCAD.
- Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.
- Experience with finite stress analysis, FEA and engineering calculations.
- Automotive industry experience (desired).
- Experience designing commercial vehicles, pressure vessels or tanks (desired).
