A well-established European electronics and engineered components supplier is expanding its commercial team to support continued growth across the UK industrial and electronics market. This role has been created to drive new business and increase specification sales across a high-potential Scotland territory.

The business supplies a broad range of electro-mechanical components and interconnect solutions into sectors including industrial automation, embedded systems, automotive, manufacturing, and OEM environments. With strong technical capability and an established customer base, the company is investing heavily in long-term growth and customer partnerships.

The Business Development Manager will take ownership of a Scotland territory, managing existing OEM and industrial accounts while developing new business opportunities across the electro-mechanical components market. This is a consultative technical sales role focused on driving design-in opportunities from concept stage through to production. Success in the role will come from building strong relationships with design engineers, procurement teams, and technical stakeholders, while developing a strong pipeline of specification-led projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop sales growth across Scotland within the electro-mechanical components and interconnect market
  • Manage and grow existing OEM, industrial, and manufacturing customer accounts
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across connectors, cable assemblies, switches, relays, and related engineered solutions
  • Engage with design engineers and technical teams to influence product specification at design stage
  • Manage long-term technical sales cycles from initial enquiry through to production and supply
  • Conduct regular customer visits across Scotland, maintaining strong commercial relationships
  • Reactivate dormant accounts and identify opportunities for account expansion
Person Specification
  • Experience in technical B2B sales within electronics, electro-mechanical components, connectors, interconnects, or engineered solutions
  • Strong understanding of specification sales and design-led sales processes
  • Experience selling into OEMs, industrial manufacturers, embedded systems, automation, or engineering environments
  • Ability to build relationships with both engineering and procurement stakeholders
  • Commercially driven with a proactive approach to territory development and new business generation
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across Scotland
