Our client is seeking a technically strong and commercially aware Project Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a structural or engineering background who enjoys working closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to deliver technically sound and practical engineering solutions across a range of construction projects.
The successful candidate will act as a key technical point of contact, supporting the delivery of projects involving composite flooring systems, structural roof decking, and façade/building envelope solutions from initial enquiry through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with structural engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to provide technical project support
- Interpret technical drawings and project specifications to develop suitable engineering solutions
- Prepare structural estimates and assist with calculations relating to project enquiries and requirements
- Carry out structural calculations both manually and using software tools such as Sandstat and Spanr
- Provide technical guidance on composite floor systems, structural roof decking, and building envelope solutions
- Interpret wind loading requirements and structural regulations to ensure compliant design solutions
- Support projects from initial concept through to delivery, ensuring technical accuracy and project coordination
- Attend client and design meetings, as well as occasional site visits across the UK
- Deliver technical presentations and proposals to support project development
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure solutions are both technically robust and commercially viable
- Monitor industry developments, materials, and construction methodologies relevant to the sector
Key Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience within a structural engineering, project engineering, or construction-related role
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Structural or engineering qualification/background essential
- Good understanding of building envelope systems, composite flooring, structural roof decking, or façade solutions
- Experience with structural calculations and wind load considerations
- Familiarity with Sandstat, Spanr, or similar structural software desirable
- Confident communicator with strong client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving ability with a practical, solutions-led approach
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
