The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will support upcoming and live engineering projects, working alongside the wider engineering team to deliver high-quality designs, documentation, and technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Produce 3D and 2D designs using SolidWorks (preferred) and AutoCAD
  • Design new equipment and improve existing machinery and systems
  • Update drawings, assemblies, and layouts as projects evolve
  • Prepare technical documentation: reports, manuals, specifications
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, compliance and project teams
  • Support technical problem-solving across machinery and equipment
  • Ensure designs meet all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
  • At least 3 years’ experience in design or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with machinery, pipework, assemblies, or similar equipment
  • Competent in 3D CAD – ideally SolidWorks
  • Project management experience
  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
  • Interest in global projects, travel opportunities, and long-term development
