Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for a role with autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact? Do you have experience managing ISO systems, audits, and compliance within a manufacturing or industrial environment?

Our client, a well-established recycling business, is looking to recruit a Compliance, Health & Safety Manager to oversee health, safety, compliance, and HR processes across three sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys a varied role combining compliance management, auditing, relationship building, and operational support. You will have the autonomy to identify improvements, implement changes, and work closely with teams across the business to maintain high standards.

  • Take ownership of Health & Safety across three sites, working closely with Operations Managers, Supervisors, and teams on the yard to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Support operational teams in enforcing Health & Safety procedures and promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Liaise with suppliers, ensuring compliance documentation is maintained and following up where required.
  • Complete reviews of risk assessments, method statements, and training requirements, supporting any changes to processes or working practices.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage HR administration processes including new starter documentation, inductions, payroll information, employee records, training records, and staff reviews.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience managing Health & Safety within an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessments, compliance, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with both management and operational teams.
  • A hands-on approach with the confidence to work closely with teams on the yard and across the business.
