This is a varied and hands-on opportunity within a fast-paced industrial environment, the Engineering Manager will play a key role across engineering, facilities, maintenance and operational support.
They are looking for an Engineering Manager who can lead from the front, drive standards and take ownership of engineering operations across the site.
The Role of the Engineering Manager
- Oversee engineering and facilities operations across the site, managing both internal teams and subcontractors to ensure maintenance, compliance and operational performance standards are maintained.
- Be hands-on, supporting the team, driving improvements and getting involved in day-to-day engineering activities.
Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager
- Manage and lead a multi-skilled maintenance and facilities team.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.
- Support engineering projects, site improvements and infrastructure upgrades.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, policies and engineering standards.
- Support budget control and engineering spend management.
- Maintain high engineering, housekeeping and safety standards across the operation.
- Provide technical support across engineering and operational activities.
- Work closely with operational teams and senior management across the site.
- Support facilities management responsibilities across offices and operational areas.
- Lead from the front and promote a positive engineering and safety culture.
- Be involved in site-based engineering activities when required.
Requirements of the Engineering Manager
- Time served Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background.
- Over 5 years’ hands-on engineering experience.
- Previous supervisory, team leader or management experience within industrial environments.
- Experience within ports, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, heavy industry or similar environments.
- Good understanding of engineering maintenance and facilities management.
- Experience managing contractors and third-party providers.
- A proactive and hands-on approach.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
