Our client is seeking a skilled Tube Laser Operator to join their growing operation in Poynton/Stockport. Working within a busy steel processing environment, you will be responsible for operating tube laser machinery, maintaining high quality standards, and supporting efficient production output as part of an established and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tube laser machinery to cut steel accurately to specification from cutting notes
  • Safely operate 5-ton overhead gantry cranes using radio remote and pendant controls
  • Operate forklifts, side loaders, Combi lifts, and other mobile plant where trained
  • Follow production schedules and instructions from the Foreman to meet operational targets
  • Carry out pre-use safety checks on lasers, cranes, machinery, and mobile plant
  • Complete stock checks and production paperwork accurately
  • Perform quality checks using measuring equipment to ensure correct sizing and specifications
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and a clean, safe working environment
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe systems of work in line with ISO45001:2018
  • Report machinery defects, incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience operating tube lasers or similar CNC/laser cutting machinery preferred
  • Warehouse, steel, manufacturing, or industrial experience advantageous
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and/or forklifts beneficial
  • Strong understanding of workplace health & safety and manual handling practices
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately from cutting specifications
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively within a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment
