Are you an experienced consultative sales professional who enjoys shaping complex, high-value projects from concept to delivery? We're partnering with a long-established, highly regarded design and build business that creates bespoke outdoor environments—including playgrounds, leisure spaces, and outdoor learning settings—for theme parks, zoos, tourist attractions, schools, local authorities, and major leisure operators across the UK.
This is a genuinely consultative role. Projects are fully bespoke, sustainably sourced, and often landmark in nature, with values ranging from £50k to several million. Sales cycles are relationship-led, collaborative, and focused on long-term impact rather than transactional volume.
The Role
- As Business Development Manager, you will take ownership of a regional pipeline, acting as the first point of contact for new enquiries while developing long-term relationships across education, local authority, and leisure sectors.
- Qualify and manage inbound and referral-led enquiries
- Lead consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders
- Work closely with in-house designers to co-create bespoke solutions
- Visit client sites where appropriate (schools, councils, leisure venues)
- Manage pipeline activity and forecasting via HubSpot CRM
- Identify opportunities to grow new markets and deepen existing accounts
About You
- You’ll be an experienced B2B sales professional with a background in consultative or solution-led project sales, ideally within construction, fit-out, education, public sector, or design-led environments.
- You will be:
- Comfortable managing complex, high-value sales processes
- Highly organised, process-driven, and commercially astute
- Confident using CRM systems to manage pipeline and performance
- Naturally relationship-focused, with a long-term view of client value
- Interested in (or experienced with) outdoor play, public realm, sustainable design, or timber-based projects
Package & Benefits
- £40,000–£50,000 base salary
- High-performance bonus (up to 50–75% of base in strong years)
- Car allowance or company vehicle
- Laptop, mobile phone
- 22 days holiday + bank holidays + Christmas closure
- Ongoing training and development
- Remote working with 1–2 HQ visits per month
You’ll be joining a close-knit, experienced team with an average tenure of 8+ years, reflecting a supportive culture and genuine career longevity.
If you’re currently selling into the play, education, or public realm sectors, this is a clear step up. If not, but you have strong consultative project sales experience, this could be an outstanding next move.
