Overview
Plant Fitter – Heavy Plant Equipment at our Immingham site. Permanent, full-time role working on mobile plant equipment in a busy metals recycling operation. Hours are 06:30-17:30 Monday to Friday with on-call flexibility.

Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance on mobile plant equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Maintain and repair a wide range of equipment: material handlers, loading shovels, 360 excavators, and ADT dumpers
- Monitor and replace wear parts, ensuring all safety systems are operational
- Work with OEMs and suppliers for parts and breakdown support
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns and implement both temporary and permanent fixes
- Keep accurate service records and review daily plant check sheets
- Support vessel loading activities, including on-call availability when required
- Maintain critical spare parts and assist with maintenance of other site equipment
Requirements
- Time-served or qualified heavy plant mechanic
- Strong experience working on mobile plant in industrial environments (e.g., recycling, quarrying, waste)
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and fault diagnosis
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing operational needs
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Certifications to operate mobile plant (e.g., excavators, dumpers, forklifts, material handlers)
- High regard for safety procedures and operational standards
- Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
