The Role of the Service Validation Engineer

The Service Validation Engineer will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, commissioning and validating cleanroom and controlled environment equipment across hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and laboratory environments.

Responsibilities of the Service Validation Engineer

  • Servicing, fault finding and maintaining cleanroom and containment equipment
  • Carrying out HEPA filter integrity (DOP) testing
  • Airflow balancing, volume measurements and air change rate calculations
  • Testing laminar flow cabinets, isolators and microbiological safety cabinets
  • Carrying out microbiological monitoring and surface contamination sampling
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and carrying out repairs where required
  • Producing validation, service and compliance documentation
  • Working in accordance with HTM guidance, BS EN ISO 14644, BS EN 12469:2000 and EU cGMP
  • Providing technical support and advice to customers on-site

Requirements of the Service Validation Engineer

  • Multi Skilled engineer with both mechanical and electrical fault finding experience
  • Over 3 years' experience servicing and validating cleanroom or controlled environment equipment
  • Experience working on laminar flow cabinets, isolators, fume cupboards, microbiological safety cabinets or cleanroom systems
  • Strong understanding of ventilation systems and cleanroom validation principles
  • Experience working within hospital, pharmaceutical, laboratory or GMP environments
  • P601 qualification (or working towards) is desirable
  • Good understanding of HTM guidance and cleanroom validation standards
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away when required
