I'm recruiting for an exciting Area Sales Manager opportunity with a global engineering manufacturer looking to strengthen its South Midlands team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys consultative technical sales and is comfortable working with engineers, technical teams and procurement professionals to develop projects from concept through to production.

Our client is a global manufacturer supplying high-quality components into OEMs across a broad range of industries including medical, defence, industrial automation, transportation and consumer technology. The Role
You'll inherit an established territory whilst identifying new opportunities with OEMs and manufacturing customers across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. Working closely with design engineers, purchasing teams and technical stakeholders, you'll develop projects from initial concept through specification and ultimately into production. This is a consultative, project-led sales role with a strong mix of new business development and account growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established portfolio of existing accounts
- Develop new business opportunities across OEM and manufacturing customers
- Engage with design engineers, technical teams and procurement professionals to identify project opportunities
- Promote technically engineered solutions through a consultative sales approach
- Support customers throughout long sales cycles, from design through to production
- Build long-term relationships that generate repeat business and future specifications
- Work closely with distribution partners and internal technical teams to deliver outstanding customer support
About You
We’re open to candidates from a broad range of technical sales backgrounds. Examples of what you may currently be selling:
- Engineered components
- Plastic injection moulding
- Technical manufacturing solutions

- Control equipment

- Motion control
- Power supplies
- Capital equipment
- Mechanical or electromechanical products

Most importantly, you’ll have experience selling into OEMs or manufacturing businesses, be comfortable discussing technical applications with engineers, and enjoy developing long-term project opportunities rather than purely transactional sales.
