Overview
Role: Mechanical Engineer (On Call)
Location: Knottingley
Salary: Β£37,500 + Additional on call pay per call out
Hours: 3 weeks: 6AM β 2PM (standard shift); 1 week on-call: 10AM β 6PM

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with company health and safety policies.
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, drivers, belts, pumps, and gearboxes.
- Experience with fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
- Familiarity with servo drives (desirable but not essential).
- Conduct routine servicing and urgent repairs on production machinery, plant, and equipment.
- Fault Find, diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Support new equipment installation and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance and repair work.
- Provide emergency mechanical assistance during on-call shifts.
About You
- Proven background in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and fault-finding techniques.
- Time-served apprenticeship or relevant mechanical engineering qualifications.
- Problem-solving mindset, teamwork and adaptability.
