You will be joining a forward-thinking engineering team and working in a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer position, designing machinery using SolidWorks and taking projects from concept through to build.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Research and concept development through to detailed design
- Taking existing designs and adapting them into new machine formats
- Modifying and improving existing equipment and machinery
- Supporting the build and development of prototypes
- Designing fabricated components and assemblies in mild steel
- Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
- Producing detailed drawings and documentation for manufacture
Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Engineering qualification HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Over 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Background within heavy engineering or fabrication environments
- Strong equipment and machinery design experience
- Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, Inventor also considered
- Good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Awareness of electrical components and interfaces
