This is a unique opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take full ownership of mechanical design within the business. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of bespoke machinery and automation systems from concept through to manufacture, testing and installation.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will design new machinery from scratch, lead concept development, prototyping and R&D, and take designs through to manufacture. The Mechanical Design Engineer must be proficient in Autodesk Inventor and Vault. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who is comfortable on the workshop floor and involved with machine builds as they are designing on screen.
This role involves designing machinery, solving engineering challenges and seeing your ideas move from concept through to manufacture and final build.
- Design bespoke machinery from concept through to manufacture
- Produce 3D models, assemblies and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor
- Lead R&D, prototyping and new machine development
- Design sheet metal and stainless-steel fabricated components
- Support machine build, test, installation and commissioning phases
- Contribute ideas to improve machine performance, build quality and efficiency
Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a machinery manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience with sheet metal design
Salary: £43,000 – £53,000 depending on experience
