I am currently working with a well-established machinery manufacturer based in Warrington, they are looking to add a Mechanical Fitter to their growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join a business that designs and manufactures high quality, bespoke machinery and has recently launched a new range of equipment. The Role of the Mechanical Fitter
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the mechanical build and assembly of machinery from engineering drawings, working as part of a skilled production and assembly team.
- Mechanical fitting and assembly of bespoke machinery and equipment
- Building sub-assemblies and full machine builds
- Working from detailed engineering drawings and assembly instructions
- Installing mechanical components such as drives, gearboxes, bearings, motors, guards and frames
- Carrying out basic fault finding and rectification during build and test stages
- Supporting machine testing, commissioning, and final build sign off
- Working with pneumatics and basic electrical components where required
- Ensuring work is completed to quality, safety, and build standards
Requirements of the Mechanical Fitter
- Time served Mechanical Fitter
- At least 2 years mechanical fitting or machinery assembly experience
- Experience building and assembling machinery within industrial equipment environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Some electrical knowledge
- Experience working with pneumatic systems
