We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced BIM (Revit) Designer specialising in hard metals, flat roofing, and cladding. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across the UK, ensuring designs are produced on time and to a high specification.

The successful candidate will work in a highly professional environment, providing technical expertise and design support across multiple projects while maintaining a focus on quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all construction drawings and designs are produced on time and to a high-quality standard
  • Manage the development and implementation of design proposals to meet client expectations
  • Adhere to budget constraints to maintain designs as financially viable
  • Present proposals for client approval
  • Oversee the design process using technical expertise
  • Maintain thorough documentation of design and development in compliance with ISO9001
  • Keep up to date with building legislation and codes of practice relating to design
  • Coordinate submission of information to satisfy building control compliance
  • Lead the coordination and production of design data, bid deliverables, reports, and documentation essential to projects and contractual requirements; report progress against the design deliverables programme
  • Oversee the design of multiple projects throughout the contract period
  • Review and interpret architectural design intent documentation to develop acceptable construction solutions
  • Coordinate subcontractor drawings to identify conflicts and produce a cohesive overall design
  • Review product technical data to ensure compliance and incorporate into designs
  • Assist with design schedules
  • Provide design and technical support to all departments throughout the design and construction phases
  • Attend design team meetings and lead the process with consultants and subcontract designers
  • Prepare full site reports from site surveys on progress, quality, and compliance
  • Stay up to date with industry trends

Requirements:

  • Hard metal roofing, flat roofing, and/or cladding design experience – 5+ years preferable
  • Full driving licence
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • High level of customer care
  • Construction/design-related further education advantageous
  • Construction/design-related HNC/HND/Degree advantageous
  • Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Strong track record of providing quality design information in accordance with project requirements
  • High-level competency with Revit
  • Knowledge of Approved Document Part B and NHBC conditions essential
  • Membership of a professional body preferable but not essential
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong grasp of core construction principles
  • Ability to clearly communicate construction concepts, both visually and verbally
  • Familiarity with online document portals (e.g., 4projects, Aconex) advantageous
