I am currently working with a well established manufacturer of bespoke machinery and automated production equipment. Due to continued growth, investment and a full order book, they are looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer to support customers across the UK. The Role of a Field Service Engineer
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault finding and installing machinery at customer sites throughout the UK. The Field Service Engineer will work on a variety of bespoke machinery and complete both planned maintenance and breakdown support, while also assisting with new production line installations and commissioning projects.
Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer
- Service, maintain and repair machinery at customer sites across the UK
- Install and commission new machinery and production lines
- Carry out mechanical and electrical fault finding activities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Support customer training on machinery operation and maintenance
- Provide technical support and practical solutions to customers
- Complete service reports, paperwork and documentation accurately
- Ensure high levels of customer service and professionalism at all times
Requirements of the Field Service Engineer
- Time served Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or hold a recognised engineering qualification
- At least 2 year’s experience working as a Field Service Engineer
- Experience servicing, maintaining or installing industrial machinery
- Mechanical and/or electrical fault finding experience
- Experience working within manufacturing, food, packaging or automated machinery environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
- Willingness to travel nationwide with regular overnight stays
